Greenberg is right for the 8th District

I'm writing today to commend Steve Greenberg, the Republican candidate for Congress in the 8th District.

He recently conducted a tele-town hall that I participated in.

The topic was the proposed purchase of the EJ&E by Canadian National.

I was happy to participate, and I'm so grateful Greenberg provided us with information about this purchase that we had not heard before, and gave us the chance to voice our opinions.

For example, did you know that the number of hazard materials carloads moving through our neighborhoods will increase by over 1,600 percent? They can contain anything from dangerous chemicals to nuclear waste, and Canadian National wants to send those trains within spitting distances of our local schools.

Neither did I realize that this was a small part of a much larger plan on the part of the Canadian government to substantially increase its traffic through Canadian ports for rail shipment south, allowing them to bypass the Suez Canal, which is too small to handle the very large container ships.

He supports restricting foreign ownership of American transportation infrastructure which could provide the mechanism to defeat this otherwise probable purchase.

Steve will represent the 8th U.S. House District well.
