Welcome spring Oak Crest dinner

Welcome spring with a wonderful dinner at Oak Crest Cellar Pub at 6 p.m. Monday. Diners will enjoy live music and will partake of a generous buffet loaded with spring delights.

This is a great way to meet new people and enjoy an evening out. Cost is a $10 donation per diner. Oak Crest and Atrium Apartments is at 204 S. State St., Route 31, Elgin. Parking is available in the rear parking lot. Make your reservations with Mary Lou at (847) 742-2255.

Home buyer seminar April 30

A free home buyer informational seminar will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. April 30 at Elgin Community College. The session is in Room 103 of the business wing.

Participants can listen and speak to credit correction specialists and specialists in the mortgage industry.

Meet the Sons of Union Veterans

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, The Philip H. Sheridan Camp 2, Department of Illinois and the George Armstrong Custer Camp 1, Department of Illinois will host a "Meet The Sons" event at noon April 26 at the Elgin Area Historical Museum, 360 Park St.

There will be Civil War artifacts on display as well as items from the Grand Army of the Republic. Learn about the Sons of the Union Veterans and what they do. There will be a question-and-answer period as well as a show-and-tell. This will be a great time to learn more about the Civil War heritage.

Join North Kane Relay For Life

The Relay For Life of North Kane is looking for individuals and teams to participate in the annual event. The relay is an indoor, 12-hour event and will take place on May 2-3. The event begins at 6 p.m. May 2 at Dundee-Crown High School in Carpentersville.

Participants raise funds for the American Cancer Society to fund cancer research and other ACS programs in our area. This is a community event for all ages. Everyone is welcome enjoy the fun and festivities.
