The weather-delayed championship of the St. Viator girls soccer tournament was also a cross-town battle Tuesday.

And Hersey (9-2-2) won it with goals in each half and Julia Fredian's ninth shutout in a 2-0 win over Viator.

Fredian had 5 saves and Sarah Stoltzner and Kristen Gierman scored the goals for the Huskies. Mary-Kate Supplitt had 11 saves for Viator.

Maine West 5, Waukegan 0: Dontine Walsten scored 2 goals and Karen Fernandez, Sandy Ibarra and Krystine Cook scored as Maine West (3-2-2) pulled away from a 1-0 halftime lead in the Central Suburban League crossover. Christina Chervenak had 1 save in the shutout.
