Schools invite gay advocates, not God
Doesn't anyone see the irony of our state legislators kicking God out of classes, (although, lacking moral courage, they call it a moment of silence) while welcoming with open arms the homosexual sponsored "Day of Silence."
We cannot offer our children a moment to begin their day with a silent prayer, while schools in District 214 (and others) allow this push by GLSEN (gay, lesbian, and straight, educational network) to further the choice of the homosexual lifestyle to our youth.
During this day of silence, our students are not being taught their "reading, 'riting, and 'rithmetic," but that every person who identifies as a homosexual, bisexual, or cross dresser is a victim of ongoing and relentless harassment and hate.
That homosexuality is a worthy lifestyle with few if any risks healthwise and mentalwise. That they are born homosexual and cannot change.
This in spite of the thousands who through compassion and care have left this lifestyle. Those who support this opportunity to change are characterized as ignorant and intolerant bigots.
Regardless of how one feels about the choice of living this lifestyle, one wonders how the local school boards can justify, at a time of rising taxes for education, a DOS where pro-homosexual students disrupt classes while promoting the lifestyle.
Some say that it is all about tolerance. I would ask how about tolerance for those who have come to school to participate and learn?
We have taken God out of our schools while allowing this type of convoluted thinking to prevail.
