Animal shelter gets government funds

In a recent article about the need for homes for barn cats at Anderson Animal Shelter, it was mentioned that Anderson receives no government funding. Yet it does.

It has contracts with several area communities to handle stray dogs for which it receives approximately $265 per animal. I believe last year it received over $500,000 by accepting these animals.
