2 questioned over reckless gunshots

Des Plaines police Saturday were questioning two individuals following a report of gunshots being fired toward a dumpster from the open window of an apartment building just after 6 p.m.

Officers were initially called to the apartment building at 1243 Brown St. for suspicious noises. A witness reported seeing two males shooting a gun out a window toward a dumpster in the building's parking lot.

Arriving officers saw two individuals on the lower level of the building looking out a window toward the dumpster. Damage was found on both the dumpster and the rear of an adjacent restaurant.

The incident remained under investigation late Saturday. Police said charges were likely to be filed, but it was uncertain how soon.
