The 'surge' in Iraq is not working

To all of you positive Republicans, it would seem the last few weeks have proven that the so-called "surge" in Iraq is not working.

On top of all that, it would seem like political reconciliation is far from moving along as many, many issues are still unresolved, like the sharing of oil revenues.

The purpose of the "surge" was so that Iraq could resolve these issues, but that has not happened. The "surge" so far is "stuck in the mud," especially in the South Iraq.

According to Time, "Just recently on a Sunday, (Moqtada) Sadr issued a call for members of the Mahdi army to stop appearing in the streets with weapons and to cease attacks on government installations. Within a day, the fighting had stopped. It was an ominous answer to a question posed for months by U.S.… is Sadr still the leader of a unified movement and military force? The answer appears to be yes…In Basra, it shows that when Sadr speaks, the militia listens."

IT is Sadr and his Mahdi Army as well as the Iranians who will decide if the "surge" will work or not, and not our American soldiers, unfortunately.

John McCain as well as Bush are wrong and have nothing to say about it. Neither Bush nor McCain have the slightest idea of how government works in that part of the world and even less of an idea as to what Muslim and the Muslim religion are all about, and they never will.

Sadr and his Mahdi Army, the Iraq people as well as the Shi'ite people will decide their own destiny, not us.

Just for the record, there still are no WMD, never have been and never will be.

By the way, Mr. Bush and Mr. McCain, where is Osama Bin Laden? You know, the guy and his people who were responsible for 9-11 to begin with? I guess he is not so important anymore is he?
