Possible new name for Hoffman street
The Hoffman Estates Village Board could soon rename a street for the Rev. Patrick Brennan of Holy Family Catholic Church in Inverness.
Trustee Cary Collins said Brennan, who recently celebrated 35 years since he was ordained, is a positive force for the community. Collins lauded Brennan's many years at Holy Family and said his influence also touched St. Hubert Parish in Hoffman Estates.
Brennan wants to stay with Holy Family until 2010, which would give him 14 years, but his term expires in 2009 and the archdiocese has denied a request to extend the term. Cardinal Francis George has already granted Brennan an extra two years after his two six-year terms expired.
Holy Family is constructing a building named after Brennan.
