Obama fails in defining moment
Race has been described as the third rail of politics and the elephant in the American living room.
That is not exactly true. The real elephant is a double-standard in speech, action and policy.
Mention it and the PC Gestapo (media, academia, and Victimology Inc) will go into immediate overdrive. We have had an opportunity to see this in the sharpest possible relief recently.
What I heard coming from the pulpit of Jeremiah Wright could just have easily come from the throats of the KKK.
There is no difference, no justification and no moral equivalency. Hate is generic, and race hate is alive and well in this country having come to roost in the very last place it should be tolerated.
As the son of a Methodist minister, I left the denomination which had guided my ancestors and family for over 200 years because it waded into political matters that were contradictory to Biblical principles.
By remaining in a so-called church that has done the same, a man who aspires to be president of the United States would have us believe he can separate the message from the messenger. This coming from the same man whose calls for the scalp of Don Imus is not just disingenuous, it is hypocrisy.
If you aspire to be president of all the people then you need to get real and take the issue head on.
This does not call for eloquence; it calls for honesty. This is Obama's defining moment and as of this moment, all he is doing is dancing around the elephant.
