Storm hosts La Raza for MISL playoffs

The Chicago Storm hosts La Raza de Monterrey in first-round action of the Major Indoor Soccer League playoffs at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates.

For the No. 5 seed Storm and No. 4 seed La Raza, it will be a two-match quarterfinal series with Game 1 at the Sears Centre on Thursday and then Game 2 at 5 p.m. Sunday in Monterrey, Mexico.

It marks the third straight season that the Storm has advanced to the MISL postseason.

The winner of the series will face the Milwaukee Wave in the semifinals.

The quarterfinal and semifinal rounds consist of a two-match format. If the teams split their two matches, the series goes into a Golden Goal game that commences immediately after the second game. The first team to score a goal advances to the next playoff round.
