Use hard-earned tax dollars wisely
Both Lombard and Villa Park want new libraries. The towns are next to each other and unconventional thinking would have them build a joint facility.
Expenses would be apportioned by population. A joint library would cut staff, heat, power and insurance costs. For the taxpayer, it makes sense to build one building instead of two.
Villa Park just built a new police station and Lombard wants a new police station and a pool.
There is a limit on how much a homeowner can pay in taxes. Then each year, the schools want more money. Gas prices are out of control. Food prices go up each week. Corn is being used for ethanol, that gives you poor mileage instead of feeding farm animals.
And if a Democrat is elected president, the income taxes will go up as each one of them promised.
I am on Social Security, as long as it lasts, and can't afford another expense.
The politicians are going to have to be creative on how they spend my money. The same old, same old will not be acceptable.
