4 hospitalized after 3-car crash on 53
Four people were hospitalized following a three-car accident at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday on southbound Route 53 past Euclid Avenue.
Two adults and two children from one of the vehicles were taken to area hospitals.
One adult and one child went to Northwest Community Hospital, and the other adult and child went to Alexian Brothers Medical Center, according to Rolling Meadows fire Battalion Chief Tom Callard.
None of them suffered critical injuries, he said.
Two others refused medical treatment at the scene, and two were unhurt. Among those not hurt was a child who was securely fastened in a car seat, Callard said.
Neither Rolling Meadows fire nor Illinois State Police officials could provide any additional information Sunday.
