Winning first place in triple play canasta March 27 were Rosemary Haskins and Joan Stalki, who scored 88,495 points.
Pinochle
High score of 611 went to Don Baier in morning pinochle March 24. Pat Runtz was low scorer with 382. Gene Oostdyk and Art Merkelz each took a double pinochle. Carol Charpentier, Ron Diehl, Joan Dunmead and Art Merkelz each had an all-trick hand. There was no round house. In afternoon play, Doug Williams was high scorer with 621. Wally Bartels took the low score of 391. Lorraine Bock and Lorraine Schuetz each took a double pinochle. Alan Swanson played two all-trick hands. Carol Charpentier, Judy DeMay and Betty Smith played one all-trick apiece. There was no round house.
Euchre
Playing euchre March 27, Jim Morbeck won first place with 67 points. Joe Piotrowski came in second with 63. Taking third place was Ed Langen with 62. Marilyn placed fourth with 57.
Bowling
Trailblazers held first place with a 58.5-32.5 win-loss record in the Sun City Bowling League at Brunswick Zone, Algonquin as of March 19. Second place went to the Hornets with 56-35. The Jazz held third place with 55.36, while the Warriors were fourth with 54-37. In women's individual scores, Donna Tarpey walked off with high game scratch, 211; high game with handicap, 265; high series scratch, 549, and high series with handicap, 711. For men's scoring, Arthur Alluri took high game scratch, 235 and high series scratch, 265. Bill Cardwell held high game with handicap, 265 and high series with handicap, 732.
Contract bridge
Leading all scorers in contract bridge March 26 was Janice Apel with 5,410 points. Second was Julie Carobene with 4,940. Irene Crawford came in third with 4,720. Walt Figge was fourth with 4,710. Also in the top seven were Bob Zimmerman, fifth, with 4,440; Liam O'Toole, sixth, with 4,440, and Harry Leopold, seventh with 4,420. Leopold and Wally Westphal bid and made a grand slam no trump.
In pairs contract bridge March 25, Geri and Larry Dale scored 5,260 to capture first place. Walt Figge and Loren Stuvick placed second with 4,890. Janice Apel and Carol Smith were third with 4,850. Carolyn and Bob Peterson took fourth place with 4,500. Ann and Pat Danna came in fifth with 3,970. Figge and Stuvick bid and made a grand slam in clubs.
Cribbage
Jim Jemilo scored a perfect 484 to place first in cribbage March 26. Ed Dunn came in second with 483. Posting high individual hands were Tom Fleming, 28; Carol Charpentier, 24; Don Glasgow, 22 and 20; Bob Ferraris, 21; Sandy Mis and Terry Burkhardt, 20 each. There were seven skunks.
