Concert to benefit St. Charles baby
Fintan Schiltz, the St. Charles baby boy who received a new heart the day after Christmas, will be the beneficiary of a fundraising concert April 20 at the Arcada Theater in St. Charles.
Scheduled to perform at the show will be the Dick Smith Band, country singer and songwriter Robbie Fulks, Heartsfield lead singer Perry Jordan, singer-songwriters Dave Sills and Dave Ramont with their respective bands, guitarist Dennis O'Brien, singer Ben Schiltz (Fintan's uncle). Keyboardist Scott Stevenson will perform on the Arcada's pipe organ.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children 16 and younger.
Fintan was diagnosed with critical aortic stenosis when he was born Sept. 18, 2007, at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva. He was transferred to Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Fintan had complications with his lungs after the surgery, but is expected to be discharged soon.
The concert will help the family pay for part of Fintan's continuing medical bills.
