These DVD'S were released this week.

"Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" Johnny Depp was nominated for Best Actor for his portrayal of Sweeny Todd, the Ripper of barbers. His customers do not emerge from his shop, and instead end up as meat pies for Mrs. Lovett (Helena Bonham Carter). Tim Burton has made a terrific film of Stephen Sonheim's musical that shows the dark side of London. Burton employs enough macabre and cutting wit to match the stage play.

"Alvin and the Chipmunks" This $215 million box-office hit shows how Alvin, Simon and Theodore became rock stars. Dave Seville (Jason Lee) is a songwriter who discovers the chipmunks, and after they have a hit, he has to keep them away from record executive and promoter Ian (David Cross). Kids will love the music and the special effects.
