Cops nab five in $4.5 million cocaine bust
Police arrested five Aurora residents and seized $4.5 million in cocaine in an undercover investigation into alleged narcotic trafficking in DuPage and Kane counties.
Beside 15 kilograms of cocaine, authorities said they also nabbed $50,000 cash and two cars. The defendants are facing possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver charges.
Those charged are Juan G. Meneses, 32; Vanessa Bedoya, 37, and her husband, Juan C. Bedoya, 38; Gonzalo Rodriguez-Jimenez, 38, and Francisco Bedoya, 36. Four of the defendants, all arrested Tuesday, are being held on $1 million bonds. Francisco Bedoya was charged in Kane County.
The investigation was headed by the DuPage County Sheriff's narcotics unit, along with several local and federal agencies.
