Cop accused of battery
A Chicago police officer has been charged with three counts of official misconduct and domestic battery for attacking a woman while on duty, authorities said. According to police, the 16-year police veteran left his Englewood District post and drove to Chicago's far South Side. There, Branch pulled his gun on a woman who was either his ex-wife or soon to be ex-wife, police said. Investigators say he also broke car windows. Administrator Ilana Rosenzweig says the Independent Police Review Authority is investigating the incident.
