Business leaders invited to breakfast
All Arlington Heights business leaders are invited to the "Economic Outreach Breakfast" from 7 to 9 a.m. on April 23 at the Doubletree Hotel at 75 W. Algonquin Road. The breakfast is hosted by the Arlington Economic Alliance.
The breakfast will feature a panel of local business experts discussing how to best meet the needs of their businesses in today's challenging economic climate.
To register for the breakfast, which costs $10 per person, pick up an invitation from the Arlington Heights planning department, located on the second floor of the village hall, or call (847) 368-5200.
Concert to benefit NIU: The First Presbyterian Church in Arlington Heights will host the Prospect High School chamber and varsity choirs at 2 p.m. on Sunday. During the concert, an offering will be collected, with all proceeds going to the Northern Illinois University February 14 Student Scholarship Fund. The fund will distribute scholarships to deserving students, in the name of those who lost their lives in the shooting at Cole Hall.
Prospect's choir director, Ken Whitney, said Dr. Eric Johnson, director of choirs at Northern Illinois, hopes to send some of his students to the concert to sing with the Prospect choirs.
The church is located at 302 N. Dunton Ave.
Give back, give blood: Arlington Heights is sponsoring a blood drive with LifeSource Blood Services from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on April 18 at the Arlington Heights Senior Center, 1801 W. Central Road. Make an appointment by calling Patti Kozlowski at (847) 368-5760. Walk-ins are also welcome.
Identification will be required at registration. Before donating, make sure to eat, drink water and try to avoid caffeine.
All meetings at new hall: Starting Monday, all village meetings -- including the village board, plan commission and design commission -- will be at the new village hall at 33 S. Arlington Heights.
