Glenwood School says thanks, welcome

First of all, I would like to thank Daily Herald staff writer Josh Stockinger for his article on the new president of Glenwood School for Boys and Girls, Sam Banks.

He also reported on the effort that was necessary last spring to avert the closing of our Rathje Campus in St. Charles for financial reasons.

The school is now in its 121st year and gaining strength once again.

I would also like to thank Mayor Don Dewitte and the St. Charles City Council for its recent proclamation. By keeping our campus going, this enabled us this year to graduate two more high school kids from St. Edward in Elgin. One of them has already been accepted at the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

We invite anyone in the area to find out what is so compelling about our kids and our school. And we have an opportunity right around the corner .

On April 25, Glenwood is hosting a breakfast on its St. Charles campus to introduce Sam and our new chairman of the board of trustees, Norm Wesley of Fortune Brands. The 8 a.m. breakfast is free. Doors open at 7:30.

Please consider checking out our kids and our residential community. Call Erin at (847) 464-8243 at Glenwood to get further instructions and let us know if you would like to attend. Tours can be arranged for after the breakfast.
