Road work scheduled for overnight in Naperville

Traffic will be restricted to one southbound lane and one northbound lane on Washington Street at Aurora Avenue in Naperville from 10 p.m. today until 5 a.m. Thursday, officials said.

The road closings are needed to permit night work for water and electric utility installation. Normal traffic patterns on Washington Street are scheduled to resume at 5 a.m. Thursday.

The construction work is part of a larger project that involves installing about 3,000 feet of 12-inch water main and 3,400 feet of electric duct bank to upgrade utilities in the area. The boundaries of the work area include Aurora Avenue from Eagle Street to Washington Street; Main Street from Aurora Avenue to Water Street; Webster Street from Hillside Avenue to Aurora Avenue; and Hillside Avenue from Webster Street to Washington Street.
