Baseball
Vintage team: Anyone may join the 2008 Chicago Salmon vintage baseball team either as a player or a "crank."
Players range from 18 to 59, and play according to the rules of 1858. The team plays without baseball mitts, using a 9½-inch "lemon peel" style baseball. There is no stealing.
This year the Chicago Salmon will play approximately 27 games.

Basketball

Dodgeball
Spring league: A Saturday dodgeball league for third- through sixth-graders will be held every Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. from April 5 until May 31 at the JCYS Northwest Family Center, 1700 Weiland Road, Buffalo Grove. Golf
Ladies league: The Arlington Chippers Ladies 9-hole golf league has openings for both new members and substitutes. The league plays Thursdays at 8:15 a.m. at Arlington Lakes Golf Club, 1211 S. New Wilke Road, Arlington Heights April 24 through Sept. 4. Players do not need to be residents of Arlington Heights to join. There will be a kick-off breakfast meeting at 9:30 a.m. April 17 at the golf club. Those who are interested but can't attend can call Jayne, at (847) 934-4751.
Tennis
Summer leagues: Celeste Pregracke of the Court Aces will run summer tennis leagues. The singles leagues have flexible schedules and can be played anytime during the week. The doubles play at a set time Wednesdays or Thursdays at HeatherRidge depending on the level of play. Partners are provided or participants may bring their own. Play starts approximately the middle of May and ends the first week of August. A party and round robin top off the season. The entry deadline is May 1. For information, call Celeste at (847) 662-5038.
