Hockey

Adult league: The Kenosha Adult Hockey Club, an adult no-check league, is open to teams and individual players who would like to participate in men's and women's summer hockey leagues. The club is a USA Hockey-affiliated league for players 18 and older. The summer league offers a 12-game schedule with all games on Sundays (except Mother's Day, Memorial Day weekend, and Independence Day weekend).

In addition to men's elite, competitive and recreational divisions, the club is offering a separate women's league for the first time. A two referee system is used, and all officials are USA Hockey certified. Summer play begins April 27 and continues through Aug. 3. Discounts for early payment of ice fees are available. For more information, go to the Web site at www.usahockey.com/kahc/.

Swimming

Stroke Clinic: Blue Devil Swim Club, a competitive swim team that participates in USA sanctioned swim meets, is offering a one-week Stroke Clinic in April for swimmers who are interesting in learning more about competitive swimming. Professional coaches will teach and develop the four competitive strokes, as well as the competitive swimming skills such as starts and turns based on the swimmers' swimming abilities.

Swimmers must be between 6 and 19 years old and be able to swim freestyle (with rhythmic breathing) and backstroke both one length of the pool without stopping. This is an introduction for those interested in competitive swimming. The clinic will offer an opportunity to learn more about competitive swimming, but does not guarantee swimmers a spot.

Registration will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. today or Thursday at Warren Township High School O'Plaine Campus Lobby, 304090 Almond Road, Gurnee. The fee is $40. The clinic times and dates are 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and April 10, and 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. April 11.
