South Shore Gems trip:

Take a trip on the Chicago lakeshore and south side. Tour historic Soldier Field, the South Shore Cultural Center, St. Michael Church and enjoy lunch at the Weathermark Tavern. Fee includes transportation, step-on guide, lunch and tours. Depart from Pottawatomie Community Center, 8 North Avenue on Thursday, April 24 at 8:15 a.m., return at 5 p.m. For ages 50 and older. Fee is $84.

Senior breakfast

Breakfast includes omelets prepared to your liking, doughnuts, coffee, juice and many raffle prizes. Breakfast will be held on Tuesday, April 22 from 7:15 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. at the Pottawatomie Community Center, 8 North Avenue. For ages 50 and older. No fee for Adult Activity Club Members, 75ยข for nonmembers.

Wolf photography

A member of the Big Run Wolf Ranch, a non-profit organization specializing in the education and conservation of North American wildlife, will guide a private tour of the ranch and lead a session on wolves. During the talk, you will be able to take photographs of wolves and possibly their pups. Fee includes private tour and transportation. Registration Deadline is May 10. Class meets at the Pottawatomie Community Center, 8 North Avenue, on Saturday, May 24 from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. For ages 18 and older. Fee is $117 for residents, $167 for non-residents.

Earth Day festival

Spend a festive afternoon at our Earth Day celebration and learn how "keeping it local" can help you and your family reduce your impact on our great planet. Musical entertainment provided by Steven Keefe, Family Jug Band. Take an eco-tour of Campton Hills Park aboard a Clydesdale horse drawn hayride, and enjoy the many exhibits, Earth-friendly activities and volunteer opportunities. This free festival is at the Campton Hills Park at Peck and Campton Hills Roads, on Saturday, April 26 from noon to 3 p.m. For more information, call Pam Otto at (630) 513-4346.
