Bradley falls in Invitational opener

TULSA, Okla. -- The first game in the College Basketball Invitational finals series left the coaches of Bradley and Tulsa wanting.

Bradley's Jim Les wanted more free throws (18), rebounds (30) and more 3-point shots to fall (4 of 19). Tulsa coach Doug Wojcik wanted less in the way of turnovers (17), missed shots and missed free throws (22 of 37).

Jerome Jordan had 18 points, including 2 clinching free throws, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the Golden Hurricane (24-13) to a 1-0 advantage in the best-of-three series. Ben Uzoh also had 18 points for Tulsa.

"They made some shots and came up with some second-chance points," said Les, who was hit with a technical foul during Tulsa's 14-3 run that made it a 61-51 game.

Game 2 of the series is Wednesday night at Bradley (20-16). Game 3, if necessary, would be Friday at Tulsa. Jeremy Crouch had 16 points and Daniel Ruffin added 15 for Bradley.
