SeniorNet classes hold registration
Registration for Palatine SeniorNet will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Palatine Township Senior Center, 505 S. Quentin Road. Classes will be held in the Community Consolidated School District 15 Administration Building, 580 First Bank Drive, Palatine.
Members can take classes at any SeniorNet Center throughout the country. The Palatine SeniorNet Learning Center is sponsored by the Palatine Township Senior Citizens Council.
The fee for most courses is $45. There is a $10 books and materials fee for eight- and four-week classes.
The course titles include:
• Eight-week courses -- Computer Basics (two classes), $10 for material fee and $40 SeniorNet membership; Introduction to Computers (two classes); Word Processing Using MS Word 2002; Windows XP ($20 fee); Creating Projects Using Word
• Four-week course -- Introduction to Internet and e-mail
Two- and four-hour workshops will also be offered this session. Fees are $10 for two-hour workshops ($12 nonmembers), and $15 for four-hour workshops ($17 nonmembers).
Available workshops include -- E-Bay; Burning CDs and DVDs; Now That You Got a Laptop, What's Next?; Scanning Photos and Text; File Management; Control Panel; Got a Digital Camera? Now What?; Many Faces of Google; Using Microsoft Word Toolbars; Using Kodak Easy Share; Windows Movie Maker; Windows Media Player; Power of the Right Click; Buying and using Flash Drive and Media Cards; Fun and Games on the Internet; Buying a Digital Camera; Introduction to Quicken; Organizing Your Photo Files with Picasa; Envelopes and Labels; Copying Music to Your MP3 Player; and Using Picasa's Advanced Photo Features.
