St. Charles travel baseball team to play in Cooperstown tournament

The St. Charles Knights Blue 12-year old travel baseball team has finalized plans to play in Cooperstown, N.Y., this summer. The boys and their families have been busy raising money for their trip to the All Star Village this June, where they will spend a week playing baseball against teams from all over the country in National Cooperstown Tournament of Champions.

The Knights have been practicing since early January, led by manager Marty Coomes, coaches Dan Specht, Dave Hauge, Michael Butir, and Bobby Roan.

The team is made up of Anthony Butir, Reece Conroyd, Riley Coomes, Stephen Coomes, Connor Dieckman, Mitch Dupuis, Ryan Hauge, Jason Koop, Conor Lee, Justin Specht and Matthew Starai. The Knights, part of the St. Charles Boys Baseball travel program, play in the Kane County Bronco League along with 18 other teams from Kane County.
