Planet frequently has gotten warmer
I saw Mr. Ryan Peters' rebuttal to my letter where he claims I derided Al Gore's environmental activism.
Mr. Peters, my letter concerned the Democratic Party's habit of nominating weak presidential candidates. It was not a global warming letter.
The reference to Mr. Gore was in the first paragraph, the first sentence actually, so I will assume you didn't read any further before starting your letter by trotting out the tired references to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate, the American Chemical Society or the American Geophysical Union -- none of which mean anything to most people who realize for every one of these groups, there is another one that completely disagrees with them.
These would be the societies and panels global warming advocates never mention. How about the P.W.S.B.S. (People With a Sore Back Society) who have voted unanimously that they have shoveled just about all the global warming they can stand this year.
It isn't that I don't believe the planet is getting warmer. I fully except that it might be, as it has hundreds of times in its long history just before it goes through a cooling stage.
Ice ages come and go, warming periods come and go, always have, always will.
What I don't like is my 10-year-old coming home from school telling me we are killing polar bears and people who live on the coast are all going to die in terrible floods because of man, especially American man.
Did you know that last week, weather satellites showed that the snow cover on our planet was the most it had been since the mid '60s?
