Police: St. Charles man traded child porn online
A 20-year-old St. Charles man was being held in lieu of $70,000 bond Friday on charges of trading child pornography over the Internet.
Scott J. Nuxoll, of 215 N. Fifth Ave., was arrested Thursday night at his residence after the Illinois attorney general's High Tech Crimes Unit tracked online pornography trading to a home computer, authorities said. He is charged with three counts of child pornography possession with intent to disseminate, a Class 1 felony.
St. Charles police spokesman Paul McCurtain said investigators seized two computers while carrying out a search warrant at Nuxoll's home. Forensic investigators uncovered three pornographic images of "very young" children, he said.
Nuxoll's arrest was the result of the High Tech Crimes Unit's checks on the Internet, police said.
"The Illinois attorney general is constantly investigating on the Internet and whenever they come across something like this, they investigate who the (Internet protocol) address belongs to" and alert local police, McCurtain said.
Nuxoll was being held in the Kane County jail awaiting a Wednesday court appearance.
