Burglars hit Naperville business
Burglars made off with more than $10,000 in medical and computer equipment in a recent incident at the Universal Open MRI and Diagnostic Center of Naperville, police said Friday.
Police said the offenders entered the building at 1100 Sherman Ave. Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, but there is no evidence of forced entry.
"It could have been a door left open or a key," Naperville Cmdr. David Hoffman said. "There's no place for anyone to hide in that area, but that part is still under investigation as to how offenders entered building itself."
Once inside, they scaled a 9-foot wall to gain access to the business in Suite 110 and stole medical and computer equipment, office supplies and a 25-inch television.
No medical files were taken, according to Hoffman, and none of the equipment contains hazardous substances or waste.
Another business in the building, Naperville Skin Institute, was untouched.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information is asked to call Naperville police at (630) 420-6726 or Naperville Crime Stoppers at (630) 420-6006. Callers to Crime Stoppers may remain anonymous.
