• David Isaiah Taylor of Long Grove, a student majoring in biology and psychology at Truman State University, Kirksville, Mo., was named to the Fall 2007 President's List for having a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
• Laura Yazmin Joya of Wheeling, a student majoring in exercise science; at Truman State University, Kirksville, Mo., was named to the Fall 2007 Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs' List. To qualify, students must attain a semester 3.50 to 3.99 grade point average.
• Thomas P. Schmitt of Long Grove received a master's degree in architecture and urban planning from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee at the Dec. 16 graduation ceremonies.
• Lindsey A. Henrikson of Buffalo Grove, a student in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern University, Evanston, was named to the Dean's List for the fall quarter of the 2007-08 academic year. To qualify, students must attain a grade point average of at least 3.70 on a 4.00 scale.
• Stephanie M. Mata of Wheeling, graduated cum laude Dec. 15 with a bachelor's degree in education (high school) from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. She majored in physical education K-12.
• Juan C. Olmos of Long Grove was named to the Fall 2007 Dean's List at Northern Michigan University, Marquette, for having a grade-point average of 3.25 to 3.99.
• Stephanie M. Mata of Wheeling was named to the fall 2007 Dean's List at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau for earning at least a 3.5 grade point average.
• Claudia M. Wozniak of Buffalo Grove was named to the 2007 fall Dean's List at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus in Minneapolis/St. Paul. To qualify, students achieved a grade point average of 3.66 or higher.
• Daniel S. Mohn, Buffalo Grove, and Allen G. Butler, Wheeling, were named to the dean's list for the March 2007 session at Columbia College, Missouri, for achieving at least a 3.5 grade point average.
• Jennifer Garber, daughter of Michael and Judith Garber of Buffalo Grove, was named to the 2006-07 winter semester dean's list at The University of Dayton in Ohio for achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
• Anthony Fina from Wheeling, a senior majoring in biology and psychology at Augustana College, Rock Island, was named to the fall 2007 Dean's List for earning a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
• Su-Youn Kim of Wheeling graduated from Binghamton University, State University of New York with a bachelor's degree in management and accounting.
• Brittani Melissa Wilton of Buffalo Grove, a junior pursuing a bachelor's degree in elementary education at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, is the recipient a University of Kansas Memorial Corp. Sua Academic Support Scholarship and Warner Ferguson University Service Scholarship. She is a graduate of Adlai E. Stevenson High School.
• Melissa Rae Shudak of Buffalo Grove was listed on the Chancellor's Honor Roll for the fall 2007 semester at the University of Mississippi, Oxford. To achieve this honor, students must have a grade point average of 3.75 to 4.0.
• Millikin University in Decatur announced the following students were named to the Dean's List for the 2007 fall semester for earning a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

• The University of Iowa in Iowa City named the following students to the dean's list for the 2007 fall semester for having a minimum 3.5 grade-point average.

• The University of Kansas, Lawrence announced the following students were candidates for degrees at the end of the fall 2007 semester.
Buffalo Grove: Aaron Michael Bazata, son of Vicki and Jerry Bazata, general studies/psychology, Adlai E. Stevenson High School graduate; Ryan Alexander Berg, son of Bruce and Robin Berg, fine arts/design, Adlai E. Stevenson High School graduate; Michael Aaron Gersten, son of Sam and Karen Gersten, music education, graduate of Adlai E. • Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, awarded Presidential Scholarships to the following students at the beginning of the fall 2007 semester. The scholarship, awarded on the basis of the student's academic and leadership achievement, ranges from $7,000 to $12,000.
