Aurora home damaged in fire
Fire of an undetermined nature resulted in $150,000 damage Friday to an Aurora home.
Neighbors called firefighters about 2:45 p.m. after seeing smoke coming from the dining room of the two-story home on the 300 block of South Ave., on the city's near-east side.
A fire started in the basement and burned a hole through the floor and into the dining area, according to Battalion Chief Dave Rygh. No one was at home at the time and no injuries were reported.
Firefighters administered oxygen to a dog in the home, which also was not injured, Rygh said.
