The Chicago Wolves have signed defenseman and Chicago native Ryan Reid.
Reid, 27-year-old, had 81 penalty minutes and 7 points (3G, 4A) in 56 games with the ECHL's Dayton Bombers. He will make his American Hockey League debut when the Wolves play the Rockford IceHogs at the Rockford MetroCentre at 7:30 tonight.
Last year, Reid ranked second in the ECHL with a +31 plus/minus rating and helped Dayton reach the Kelly Cup Finals by notching 12 points and 105 penalty minutes in 72 regular-season outings.
Prior to turning pro, Reid spent four seasons at Lake Superior State University (CCHA) from 2001 to 2005, tallying 21 assists, 23 points and 219 penalty minutes in 133 career matchups.
