WIU tries to get back to normal
MACOMB -- Students, faculty and staff at Western Illinois University are trying to return to normal a day after a handwritten note threatened a shooting.
University spokeswoman Darci Shinberger says no unusual incidents have been reported on the Macomb campus. She also knows of no arrests in the case.
There is an increase police presence on campus, however. Shinberger says officers with the campus police, Macomb police, Illinois State Police and the sheriff's office are watching for any problems.
The note was left in a drop-box of an off-campus apartment complex. It threatened a shooting on Wednesday, and students were given the option of skipping classes without penalty that day.
