Sears taps Circuit City executive

Sears Holdings Corp., in the midst of its latest turnaround plan, on Thursday said it hired former Circuit City executive John W. Froman to oversee its Tools and Lawn & Garden unit.

The Hoffman Estates-based retailer said Froman was most recently chief executive officer of Namco, a regional chain of recreation superstores. He also spent 19 years at Circuit City Stores Inc., rising to chief operating officer.

Sears Holdings is still looking for a permanent chief executive.
