Don't cut down old, beautiful trees

I have heard about this plan to cut down the beautiful and old trees at Ackerman. This is a travesty.

We need to preserve this property. We need the DuPage County Forest Preserve District to save the Glen Ellyn forest now before they are cut down this spring for flood-water retention.

These 100-year-old old trees (approximately 340 of them) are on a parcel known as Ackerman Woods located between Lenox, Riford and St. Charles Roads, and is an important forest and wetland area. This property is owned by us -- the taxpayers -- and controlled by the Glen Ellyn Park District. We all need to combine our efforts to stop this plan.

Our village government is not representing my interests in approving this plan. The Glen Ellyn Park District is not representing my interests in approving this plan.
