• Roosevelt University awarded master's degrees to the following students in August 2007.

• Hope College in Holland, Mich., named the following students to the Dean's List for the first semester of the 2007-08 school year for having a minimum 3.5 grade point average.

• Southern Illinois University in Carbondale named the following students to the spring 2007 Deans' list.

• David E. Markko of Barrington was named to the dean's list for the March 2007 session at Columbia College, Missouri, for achieving at least a 3.5 grade point average.

• Daniel Patrick Dunne, son of Dan and Janell Dunne of Palatine, completed the Global Awareness Program in the spring of 2007 at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, and received a Global Awareness Program certificate at a May ceremony. Dunne is a senior majoring in management and a Palatine High School graduate.

• Keri Keller George of Palatine, a student in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, was named to the president's list for the 2007 spring semester for achieving a 4.0 grade point average.

• Katie Lynn Ellis of Port Barrington, a student in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, was named to the president's list for the 2007 spring semester for achieving a 4.0 grade point average.

• The University of Dayton in Ohio named the following students to the 2006-07 winter semester dean's list for achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

• Emily Leininger, daughter of Eric and Claire Leininger, Barrington, was named to the 2006-07 dean's list at Lawrence University, Appleton, Wis., for maintaining a minimum 3.4 grade point average. Leininger is a 2004 graduate of Barrington High School.

• Matthew Broadhead of Palatine was awarded Dean's High Honors for the Spring 2007 semester at Nichols College, Dudley, Mass., for achieving a grade point average between 3.6 to 4.0.

• Justin Pothast, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kirby Pothast of Palatine, graduated with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and history at Cornell College's June 2007 commencement in Mount Vernon, Iowa.

• Adrienne Stackwell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stackwell of Palatine, graduated with a bachelor's degree in secondary education and international business at Cornell College's June 2007 commencement in Mount Vernon, Iowa.

• Nathan Barr Arnberger of Deer Park graduated with a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from the University of Iowa at its spring 2007 commencement ceremonies• in Iowa City.

To achieve summa cum laude honors, a student must achieve a 3.8 or better grade point average. For magna cum laude honors, students must achieve a 3.6 or higher GPA and for cum laude honors, a 3.4 or better GPA is required.
