Rairdon honored at Knox

Tim Rairdon, a senior from St. Charles and St. Charles East High School, was recently named the Knox College Prairie Fire Performer of the Week.

The sophomore earned all-conference honors after finishing third in the 800-meter run at the 2008 Midwest Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. He also anchored the sprint medley relay team, which set a Knox school record with a time of 3:42.65.

He also was awarded MVP for the men's indoor track team.

Geneva boosters:ŒThe 2008 Geneva All Sports Boosters auction/dinner will be held on Friday, April 11 from 6-11 p.m. at the Kane County Fairgrounds in St. Charles.

The event ticket includes dinner, a silent auction with themes baskets, as well as a live auction with items including vacation condos, prom packages and many sporting event tickets. Tickets are $20 per person in advance, and $25 at the door. Registration is available on line at: ghsallsportsboosters.com or call Amanda Conlon at (630) 845-0622.

All proceeds go to Geneva sport teams and coaches will be in attendance. Seats are limited this year.

North Stars baseball:ŒSt. Charles North's baseball program will present a Day of "Stars" on March 22.

The public is invited to a from professional baseball manager Mike Pinto as well as the silent auction from 12:30 to 3 p.m. with the live auction at 2:30 p.m.

Pinto has a rich history of playing and coaching on the college and professional level as well as scouting for Kansas City Royals. He will share some life lessons.

Auction items will include a golf 3-some at Medinah Country Club, a 3-night stay at the Hammock Beach Villa in St Augustine, Fla., Cubs tickets, third row Bulls tickets, Kane County Cougars Fun packs, signed MLB Hall of Fame items from Bob Feller Goose Gossage, Brooks Robinson, Tony Gwynn, Mike Schmidt and Fergie Jenkins, to name a few.

The defending conference and regional champion North Stars will be playing a 100-inning game.
