Thompson has Fiddle Fest
Thompson Middle School in St. Charles will have its annual Fiddle Fest at 7:15 p.m. April 4. The event will include performances by orchestra students as well as a jam session with parents, siblings and other musician guests. 'Live Like You Were Dying':
Beginning Sunday, the public can participate in a monthlong, community campaign sponsored by Tri-City Salvation Army. The event has a theme based on the Tim McGraw song "Live Like You Were Dying" and will include small discussion groups, daily readings and weekend events. To register, call (630) 377-2769.
Fight blindness
The Chicago chapter of the Foundation Fighting Blindness' annual Vision Walk is at 10 a.m. June 8 at Soldier Field in Chicago. Money raised funds research into causes of blindness. For more information about forming or joining a fundraising team, call (847) 680-0100 or visit www.visionwalk.org.
