Vikes open with victory

The Geneva girls soccer team opened up its season with a 2-0 nonconference win at Plainfield Central on Monday.

Krista Jezior and Emily Fechner scored Geneva's goals with Megan Spear on both assists.

Madison Vanata and Vero Castro split the shutout for the Vikings (1-0).
