'OK Corral' and guns are not OK
Of all the reasons given by those who advocate a wider dispersion of guns in our society (given that is possible), the self-defense argument is one of the phoniest.
In the "Old West," practically everyone was packing. The "Old West" should have been a very peaceful place if peace comes from wide spread prevalence of guns. I think most would agree the "Old West" was far from a peaceful society.
Do gun advocates really think the "OK Corral" style of defense they promote, with bullets whizzing in every direction, has a place in a modern civilized society or any merit whatsoever for that matter? I hope not.
