Foster, supporters offer us new hope

You know it's a very different candidate when your newly elected congressman asks one of several Nobel laureates to stand beside him during a victory speech.

Actors, athletes and other popular icons are common, but Bill Foster's candidacy for the 14th U.S. House seat has attracted the celebrity of some of the worlds' sharpest minds.

While analysts try to make sense out of how a Democrat won in what has been considered a traditionally Republican area, it should not be a mystery.

Our nation's problems are complex and, our contempt for the status quo is strong.

Thus, dirty tactics and a tired candidate mold did not work. We deserve and desire better.

Foster offers that change and I am excited about what this extraordinary man offers as a congressman.
