Easter fun for pets and their owners

An Easter-themed fundraising event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Goin' Postal, 124 W. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. Proceeds will go to Adopt-A-Pet.

Pets and kids are invited to take pictures with the Easter Bunny. Fresh baked goods will be available, as well as free gifts for pets and kids, and free refreshments.

Adopt-A-Pet is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization. Nominal donations are requested. For information, visit adoptapet-il.org.

Council on Aging offering tax help

The Barrington Area Council on Aging is offering the AARP Income Tax Assistance Program through April 10.

Trained volunteers will assist seniors with their taxes from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays at the council office, located in the Prairieview Building at The Garlands of Barrington, 6000 Garlands Lane, Suite 100. Barrington Bank and Trust will provide tax assistance on Saturdays at 201 Hough St.
