Stun gun kills 24-year-old
Chicago authorities say a 24-year-old Chicagoan is dead after police used a stun gun on him. Police spokesman Marcel Bright said the incident happened on the city's West Side late Tuesday after the man became "combative and violent" while being taken into police custody. He was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago. The Cook County medical examiner's office identified him as Roberto Gonzales and said an autopsy is planned. It isn't immediately clear why Gonzales was being arrested or where he was when police used the stun gun to subdue him. The incident is being investigated by the Independent Police Review Authority, which probes allegations of police misconduct.
