Skybus Airlines cuts back new flights to Gary
Less than a week after it began service to the Gary/Chicago International Airport, Skybus Airlines is cutting back on its flights.
Airline spokesman Bob Tenenbaum says they are reducing flights due to the high cost of fuel.
Skybus announced in January that it would offer morning and evening flights, seven days a week, between Gary and Piedmont Triad International Airport near Greensboro, North Carolina, starting March 13.
The airline says that as of April 15, it will offer just one flight per day. Passengers will reservations on the canceled flights will able to change their reservations.
When Skybus began flights last week, they were the first regularly scheduled flights at the Gary airport in nearly a year.
