Baseball
Spring camp: Play Ball USA at 208 Graceland, Des Plaines, will hold its 2008 Spring Break Camp from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday to March 27 for players ages 7 to 14 (players will be grouped according to age/ability). This four-day camp provides players with comprehensive instruction on offensive skills (hitting and base running) and defensive skills (fielding and throwing). In addition, Functional Fitness training (training sport-specific muscle movements) will be covered and players will be analyzed. Fishing
Members wanted: Midwest Bassbusters, a bass fishing club, is seeking a few new members at any level of experience. The group fishes one weekend a month from April through October, and monthly meetings are held at Where Else Lounge, Higgins and Lively roads in Elk Grove Village. Golf
Ladies league: The Arlington Chippers Ladies nine-hole golf league has openings for new members and substitutes. The league plays at 8:15 a.m. Thursdays at Arlington Lakes Golf Club, 1211 S. New Wilke Road, Arlington Heights. The season runs from April 24 through Sept. 4, and players do not need to be residents of Arlington Heights to join. There will be a kickoff breakfast meeting at 9:30 a.m. April 17 at the golf club. Anyone interested who is unable to attend, call Jayne at (847) 934-4751.
Hockey
Stevenson vs. New Trier: Stevenson Junior Varsity hockey team's game against New Trier was close during the first two periods. Stevenson scored first in the second period on a goal by Ricky Razdolsky. New Trier scored shortly after on a rebound, scored 5 goals in less than 10 minutes, and tallied one more for a final 6-1 score.

Spring camps: The Sports Academy-Northwest is offering volleyball and baseball/softball Spring Break Camps at its multi-sport facility at 355 Hastings, Buffalo Grove for every age and ability. Small ratios allow coaches to adjust lessons to meet the needs and abilities of the individual student athlete.

Soccer
Holiday tournament: Grove United Soccer Association, a nonprofit organization, will hold an annual soccer tournament May 23 to 26 at Willow Stream Park. The association wants to raise money for scholarships to give less fortunate kids an opportunity to play soccer at a competitive level.
The cost for the Memorial Day Shootout is U8-U11, $425 and U12-U19, $475.
