3 in fair condition after car strikes crowd at auto auction

Authorities say the three people hospitalized after an out-of-control SUV plowed into a crowd at a Crestwood auto auction are in fair condition.

Mike Maggio is a spokesman for Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. He says three people admitted to the facility after Wednesday's accident have been upgraded to fair condition.

Fifteen people were hurt when an employee driving a Range Rover into the Tri-State Auto Auction lost control of the vehicle. It sped up, hit a group of bystanders and struck a minivan before going through a doorway and hitting another group of people.

Crestwood Police Chief Tim Sulikowski says the car has been impounded and investigators are reconstructing the scene and reviewing video footage of the accident.
