Carpentersville pair in minority here

The ongoing saga that is the Carpentersville board and its president, Bill Sarto, is not only embarrassing but has turned pathetic.

Sarto seems to have a personal agenda against Trustee Paul Humpfer. I'm not sure if Humpfer's recent personal issues are affecting his ability to perform duties as a board member. This should be the first question raised.

Then Sarto has the audacity to not only kick a guy when he's down, but initiates actions for Humpfer's removal without consulting with other trustees.

Is there something personal between these two, I ask? This appears to be more than politics.

The real kicker is trustee Linda Ramirez-Sliwinski's recent quote in the Daily Herald: "That's a real shame that he (Trustee Ed Ritter) doesn't represent the board because that means the board doesn't represent the community."

Can somebody connect the dots on this one for me? My scorecard has this one at five trustees questioning Sarto's actions -- Ritter, Judy Sigwalt, Karen Teeter, Keith Hinz and obviously Humpfer versus a long Ramirez-Sliwinski. I think when five trustees are outraged with the president's actions, the community is represented pretty well.

Sarto has had a well-paved track record of acting as village dictator for some time now. Further, he and trustee Ramirez have taken politics to a new low in their witch hunt against Humpfer.

I hope the people of Carpentersville remember it come election time. For the record, I have never met Humpfer nor do I have any political agenda.
