Grandma cheers 'Gladiator' grandson

Ruth Dollard was glued to her television set recently. Several staff members and residents of Tower Hill Healthcare Center joined in helping cheer on her grandson, Evan Dollard, in the finale square-off of the NBC show "American Gladiators." The show was hosted by Hulk Hogan and Laila Ali.

Dollard went on to claim the title of male winner of "American Gladiators." His grandmother couldn't be prouder. She is so happy for Evan Dollard, as he will receive $100,000, a brand new Toyota Sequoia, and the right to become a gladiator on the next season of "American Gladiators."

Ruth Dollard said her grandson is an avid rock climber and very much an outdoor enthusiast. He is a youth athletic instructor and teaches rock climbing as a hobby.

"Of course, I have always been proud of Evan," she said. "He was always a winner in my book, even before becoming a gladiator."
