Rethink lawsuit against District 204
I encourage anyone that is supporting the NSFOC lawsuit against District 204 to thoughtfully reconsider. If this meritless idea persists, it will be you, me, and the all the taxpayers of 204 that could be paying millions on a long, legal defense.
If the Eola site for Metea is truly hazardous, why did over 70 percent of the people support it? There was no outcry for safety when the Eola site was first chosen. Instead, the outcry came after some individuals decided they did not like the new boundaries.
All of us in District 204 will lose if the NSFOC continues along this path. The only winners will be the attorneys as they collect the hefty legal fees in this downward spiral.
Imagine the good that can be done with our money and energy if it was spent on actual education instead of on a dead-end lawsuit. It is time to move forward and to focus on teaching our children. Our money needs to be spent in the classrooms, not in the courtrooms.
