Historical society seeks volunteers

The Lombard Historical Society is holding a volunteer drive during March in hopes of increasing its volunteer corps by 50 percent.

Several opportunities are available for anyone 16 or older who can spare two or more hours per month, including tour guides, helping with educational programs, living history docents, working in the gardens and more.

All volunteers receive a discount at the Emporium Gift Shop, special recognition from the board and behind-the-scenes tours. The Victorian Museum, 23 W. Maple St., is open from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays and Sundays and the Sheldon Peck Homestead, 355 E. Parkside Ave., is open 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Saturdays.
